I have started something a little different. Bowls made of paper with pine needles stitched around the top. The leaves inside are made of string and air dry clay. I needed a change.
You all know that I'm not very good at keeping in touch, but this blog is great! Perhaps it will help me feel closer to home and friends. Thank you for including me.
hi Dana! These are lovely. I find it an interesting juxtaposition to create an object like a bowl-that is presumed to be a useful object- and decorate it in such a way with the leaves, that removes it from completely "useful". I couldn't eat my cereal in this bowl. So it becomes purely an object of beauty. How do you see these? (I know very little about throwing clay about :)
ReplyDeleteDana, these are truly lovely! I can't believe they are of paper. Your pine needles and stitching are amazing. Keep up the good work.
